Daniel Johnston is an American lo-fi singer, songwriter, musician, and artist who was the subject of the 2006 documentary The Devil and Daniel Johnston. In 1993, he recorded a barely audible avant-garde cover of "Baby Let Me Be" for Rutles Highway Revisited, a tribute album to the Rutles which featured many other underground artists.
