Joe Public is a 1966 song by Stig O'Hara featured on the groundbreaking Semi-Automatic album.

The S.I.D. theoryEdit

Many people believe "Joe Public" is one of the many clues about Stig's demise and his replacement by a lookalike called Ftig - this is the first song written by the lead guitarist after his supposed death, and the verse "My name is Joe Public - I'm sure you all know me" is supposed to be a reference to the new guy trying to be recognised as Stig. Stig has not dismissed the rumour, as he never spoke publicly while a member of the Rutles. Dirk denied, stating that the song is nothing more than result of a Tea session.
