Norwegian Food was a song written by Ron Nasty and featured Norwegian instruments, played by Stig O'Hara and waiters at a the Norwegian restaurant mentioned in the song. It appeared on the Rutle Soul album.
Background
The story goes that Nasty used to go to this same Chinese takeout every week and order the same items for he and Charynthia Pleasant. All of a sudden, he stopped going there. Nasty wrote this song to let him know that he hated the place and would stop going there.
He discovered this Norwegian restaurant where they started going often. In order to make the song sound more authentic, he hired waiters to play the background instruments (the willow flute, The langeleik and violin, among others)
